ABOUT BRAD

Brad Hamann is an award-winning illustrator, designer and educator. A graduate of Parsons School of Design (BFA in Illustration) and Marywood University (MFA in Graphic Design), his editorial illustration work has appeared in a wide range of national publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Hartford Courant, Forbes, and US News & World Report. His advertising illustration work has contributed to campaigns by Honda, DKNY, Dannon and HBO.

He has taught a wide range of university-level design and illustration courses for Parsons School of Design, Syracuse University, Marist College, Shepherd University and Eastern New Mexico University, where he served as Art Department Chair for five years.

His work has been profiled in several publications and books, and he has received awards from The Art Directors Club, The Society of Publication Designers, and the Society for News Design. He has been a recipient of  and Ozzie Award Honoring Design Excellence for Magazine, a CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Visual Design in Print, a Print Regional Award and an Adobe Achievement Award.

“I consider myself extremely lucky to have enjoyed multiple careers as an illustrator, design and educator. I’ve had some incredible teachers over the years and been given wonderful opportunities to express myself creatively. I continue to seek new avenues of artistic expression and service to others.” 

When he’s not out jogging miles over the country roads in the panhandle of West Virginia, Brad enjoys reading, his subscription to the Criterion Movie Channel and especially quiet time with his wife Jane, who is a personal fitness trainer.
